What’s New in 3.7
- Page Builder
- The parsing of templates and page-building elements (areas, lists, components) has been refactored to improve Page Builder’s behavior, ensuring the correct buttons appear at the appropriate time and making drag-and-drop operations more reliable.
- Better isolation of jContent styles versus client page styles to avoid conflicts.
- The “Live” button now includes a dropdown arrow, allowing users to select which domain content should be rendered on when multiple domains are configured. This improvement simplifies the workflow for editors managing multiple environments. The default domain is always the one configured as the “server name” in the site settings.
- jContent and Content Editor
- The preview panel has been enhanced and is no longer limited to previews. Consequently, it has been renamed as "side panel". It is now collapsible and extendable with new tabs. Tabs within the side panel provide access to options previously found under Advanced Edit > Advanced Options.
- Node details (technical info and some metadata) with a on-click copy, that should help to copy path or info that needs to be exchanged with support, devs or IT

- Usages
- The preview experience is now consistent across both jContent and Content Editor, utilizing the same rendering rules. This unified version supports more use cases and ensures selected items are rendered in-context (e.g., a content item appears as it does on its parent page with the selected view rather than as raw text or a standalone full page). As a consequence, the preview can be sometimes slower than it used to be, because we have to process the full page to display a visually accurate rendering.

- Content Editor
- In advanced editing mode, users now have direct access to settings that were previously only accessible via the “Advanced Options” panel.
- Visibility conditions are accessible from the main toolbar.
- Vanity URLs are accessible from the main toolbar.
- Live roles, Edit roles, Workflows and versions are accessible from a drop down menu in the main toolbar.
- Advanced editing now includes a dropdown menu to quickly switch between Edit and Translate modes.
- Some labels have been shortened to improve lisibility and save some space, as this toolbar can be extended with your own custom actions, it needs to remain as compact as possible.
- In advanced editing mode, users now have direct access to settings that were previously only accessible via the “Advanced Options” panel.
- Content History
- The history feature has been completely reworked for better clarity, specifying whether the operation occurred at the node level or on a specific property of the node, and identifying which languages were impacted. The History table is now filterable by event type.
- Visibility Rules
- All visibility rules (language and time-based) are now accessible in a single location.
- The UI has been redesigned to streamline and secure the editorial process.
Bug Fixes and Security
- jContent 3.7 addresses approximately 50 bugs and security issues. The complete list can be found in the release notes.
